Free Community Workshops on Boundaries and Communication in Launceston

Supporting Wellbeing and Healthy Relationships

In July 2026, Starting Point Neighbourhood House delivered a pair of free workshops in Launceston, Tasmania, intended to help adults in the local community explore practical skills for wellbeing and interpersonal relationships. The workshops were open to all individuals aged 18 and over, and anyone interested could attend without charge. Held on consecutive Thursdays, the sessions specifically addressed topics relevant to many community members: boundaries and expectations on the 2nd of July, and communication and trust on the 16th.

Each workshop combined practical guidance with a welcoming, supportive atmosphere. Attendees could choose to register in advance, although this was not required, making participation accessible for those who might be deciding last minute. The morning sessions, scheduled from 10:00am to 11:30am, fit into the routines of families and individuals seeking support or information on navigating relationships at home, in the workplace, or within the wider community.

Community Members Benefit

These workshops provided local residents with opportunities to gain new skills and reflect on common relationship challenges in a non-judgmental setting. The structure allowed participants to share experiences if they wished, or simply listen and learn. Starting Point Neighbourhood House, by hosting these sessions, responded to a need for practical, everyday knowledge about maintaining healthy boundaries and fostering trust. While the settings and attendance were modest, the positive responses indicated that even small gatherings can be meaningful for those who participate.

Visible Impact in Launceston

Through these free workshops, Starting Point Neighbourhood House supported adults in the Launceston community who may not otherwise access training on personal wellbeing or communication. By focusing on topics relevant to everyday life and delivering them at no cost, the organisation helped lower the barrier for individuals looking to improve their skills. This initiative contributed incremental but tangible support to community members and families, helping them build confidence in managing relationships in both personal and communal environments.
