George Town Neighbourhood House invited community members to volunteer at its New Year’s Eve extravaganza, helping run stalls, pack away equipment and undertake other event jobs. By offering people a chance to choose tasks that suited their availability, the Neighbourhood House built local participation and shared responsibility for a major community celebration.
