Redress — A Circular Clothing Economy for Launceston

What

GRCC funded the development of a Redress Hub with recycling workshops, a pop-up shop, heritage fabric clothing range, and a Refashion Competition and Fashion Show celebrating locally designed remade garments.

Who

Launceston residents, fashion designers, textile recyclers, and those concerned about clothing industry waste.

Where

Launceston, Tasmania

When

2022, 2024, and 2025/26 — completion expected June 2026

How It Helped

The Redress Hub is keeping clothing and textiles in use for longer, reducing landfill. In 2022 recycling workshops and a pop-up shop were developed. In 2024 an exclusive range using heritage fabric was created. The 2025/26 Refashion Competition and Fashion Show will celebrate creative remaking from old clothes.
