Through Plate With A Mate and its work with Soldier On, Eat Well Tasmania brought veterans and their families together over healthy, seasonal meals in Queenstown, Exeter and communities along the East Coast. Cooking and sharing food created a setting for conversation, connection and mutual support, complementing Soldier On’s work to help serving and ex-serving veterans thrive. The contribution used communal meals to strengthen belonging and demonstrate how food can help build connected communities.
