2025/26 — completion expected June 2026
This project deepened community connection to one of Launceston’s most distinctive natural assets. By bringing local residents together around the ecology and history of the swamp, it built a shared sense of place and stewardship. Participants gained knowledge about the wetland’s biodiversity and cultural significance, fostering pride and responsibility for its ongoing care. The celebration format made environmental engagement accessible and enjoyable, reaching people who might not otherwise participate in conservation activities.
