Eat Well Tasmania advocated for food safety rules that protect public health without undermining ordinary community food sharing. Its submission to the Department of Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania’s horticulture regulations consultation argued that backyard growers, community food groups and local food networks should be able to share surplus produce, such as parsley or silverbeet, without disproportionate paperwork or uncertainty. The advocacy helped represent the practical needs of neighbours and small community initiatives in the policy process.
