A Community Hub Bringing Support, Connection, and Hope to Launceston
Newman Christian Fellowship is far more than a place of worship — it is a vibrant, community-driven hub where people, families, and organisations come together to support one another. Located at 103 George Town Road, the church has become a constant source of activity, care, and connection, opening its doors daily to serve the broader Launceston community.
The hall is bustling with life throughout the week, providing a welcoming space for various community groups and organisations. These groups use the facilities to run programs, host meetings, and deliver services that strengthen wellbeing across the northern suburbs. Newman Christian Fellowship deeply believes that community impact grows when organisations support each other, and their hall has become a cornerstone for that shared purpose.
The fellowship’s own programs play a significant role in meeting community needs. They run breakfasts for local children, ensuring students start the school day nourished and ready to learn. Regular after-school BBQs bring families together in a safe, positive environment, fostering connection and belonging. Throughout the week, the church also hosts Bible studies, women’s meetings, and a range of support-based gatherings that offer encouragement and community.
Each Sunday, families from all walks of life come together for meaningful services that provide faith, friendship, and a sense of home. On Tuesdays, the fellowship holds dedicated prayer groups, offering a space for reflection, support, and unity.
Newman Christian Fellowship stands as a testament to what happens when a faith community lives out its values — supporting not just individuals, but also the organisations that care for them. Through hospitality, encouragement, and practical outreach, they continue to uplift the lives of many across northern Tasmania.
